WELCOME

I was so moved by a story about a bond that was forged between two women, one African and the other American (white), after the tragic death of the African woman's husband at the hand of his evil white boss. (December issue of Oprah magazine, page 183) The American woman's heart was touched and she asked simply that the African woman not hate all white people and to let her know that all white people are not evil and racist. The American woman did one more thing, she sent the African woman, who earns money as a housecleaner, $50.00, which for her was a great deal of money. The African family could do much with this seemingly small amount of money. More importantly, both women are healing, have formed a true friendship, and both are blessed for having known each other.

I felt God move in my heart with this idea to start a campaign called Women Helping Women. A campaign where an average woman in America can help a woman in another country move from a state of desperation to independence and self-sufficiency by sending her letters of encouragement, and yes sending small amounts of money when she can. We in America are very blessed and we sometimes take those blessings for granted. We read or hear about a woman suffering and want to do something, but don't know what and where and how. Thank God for people like Oprah who opens up the entire world to us with stories that touch our hearts and hopefully move us to action.

Let's put our energy into something wonderful, like helping another sister, a struggling single mom, a widow woman, an elderly woman, a young woman wanting to go to college. Their lives touch the entire community. I believe when you touch a woman, you touch a nation. When she gets better, her man improves, her children are healthy, and her neighborhood is better. Healthy happy women raise happy healthy male and female children who become great citizens of the world.

Don't you want to shape the world of tomorrow, make it better, more loving and peaceful. Well, I think God made women to do just that. Read about the lives of these African women who have a pure heart for God and desperately need your help.

Join with us to help our sisters in Africa.
We believe when you help a woman, you help an entire community!
